Api Saipal Base Camp Trek.

  • Day 1 Arrival Kathmandu and transferred to Hotel, free day.

    After touch down at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our office representatives who will then drive you directly to the hotel. After a brief introduction session, you can head to your rooms. This concludes all our activities for the day and you are free to head down to the local regions enjoying the pleasant evening. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Prepare for the Trip.

    Today, we take our time to make sure all our equipment are ready for travel. We also take time to gather all the necessary permits required for this journey. Time permitting, we can also visit some of the UNESCO world heritage sites spread around the valley. Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square are the major landmarks of the city where we set our attention on the tour. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 3 After breakfast Flight to Nepalgunj.

    The first day of our journey, today, we take a flight to Nepalgunj. The city is one of the major western cities in the west and is also connected with the Indian border. Geographically, the region offers a drastic change moving away from the hills of the valley to Terai flatlands stretching across the region. We also take time to visit the local cites simultaneously enjoying the local delicacies. Overnight stay at Nepalgunj.

  • Day 4 Flight to Simikot and trek to Dharapuri.

    The day begins early as we make our way out of Nepalgunj heading towards Simikot. The 55-minute flight takes us from the hot and humid Terai to the snowy Himalayas. The journey boasts stunning views of Mt. Saipal (7,031m), its Himalayan range, and the Tibetan Plateau. Landing at Simikot, a remote setting welcomes us where we take a brief rest. Beginning the trek, we commence our journey towards Dharapuri. Overnight stay at Dharapuri.

  • Day 5 Trek to Kermi.

    Heading out of Dharapuri, the trail follows the Karnali River sometimes heading high up the river while at times meeting level with the water. Trekking through fields of barley, buckwheat, rice, and potatoes. Trekking through the pleasant hilly landscapes, we reach Kermi. After a brief rest, we can head towards the natural hot springs taking in the pleasant scenery. We can also explore the surrounding areas and visit the monasteries around the village. Overnight stay at Kermi.

  • Day 6 Trek to Yalbang.

    Heading out of Kermi we make our way through the fields of barley and buckwheat crossing the suspension bridge over Salli River. Trekking through the lush green forests, we follow the Karnali River and gradually ascend towards Yalbang which takes about 5 to 6 hours. After a brief rest, we can make our way towards the Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery or Yalbang Monastery, the biggest in the region. Overnight stay at Yalbang.

  • Day 7 Trek to Chala.

    The trail heading out of Yalbang crosses the Karnali River over the suspension bridge and accompanies Puiyan Khola downstream. Enjoying the pleasant Himalayan landscapes, the journey gradually picks up its pace ascending towards Syakup Lek / Syakup La located at an altitude of (4,214m.) Thereon, we begin our descending route heading towards Chala. Ethnic hamlet is one of the best places to enjoy the cultural life of the locals and get to know about the traditional way of life. Overnight stay at Chala.

  • Day 8 Trek to Karang Khola/Labuk Depsa.

    One of the shorter days of the trek today we make our way towards Karang Khola entering the stunning valley. Heading out of Chala the trail diverges into two different pathways one leading towards Syakup Lagna and the other follows Karang Khola further down west. Taking on the western trail, we journey towards Labuk Depsa. The trail heads uphill leaving Khalungba Khola before descending to Labuk Depsa. Overnight stay at Labuk Depsa.

  • Day 9 Trek to Base Camp.

    Having switched to the Karang Khola valley the day before, we begin our journey heading towards the Northern Glacier of Saipal Himal (7,031m) which is also the Northern Base Camp. Crossing Karang Khola which flows from the Northern Saipal Glacier, we take on a series of steep ascents and descents towards the base camp. Navigating through the snowy Himalayan trails, the journey takes us on an ascending run alongside Phirankoph Khola. Continuing through the valley and past some summer pastures, we reach Northern Saipal Base Camp. Overnight stay at Base Camp.

  • Day 10 Exploration/Rest Day.

    The day begins with lovely views of the Himalayas glistening with the rays of the early morning sun. Colored golden the majestic Himalayan range slowly comes into views while the snowy summits of Saipal (7,031m), Api Himal (7,132m), and Phirankoph Chuli (6,730m) add to the beauty of the journey. Today, we take time to explore around the base camp familiarizing ourselves with the enchanting views and vistas adorning the skyline. Overnight stay at Base Camp.

  • Day 11 Trek back to Karang Khola.

    The beginning of the descent, today, we head back to Karang Khola. Exiting the northern base camp with the Himalayas to our backs, we begin our journey on the trail stretching along the glacial moraines. Navigating on the zigzag trail with glimpses of the valley down below, we make our way to the bank of Karang Khola. Crossing the river brings us to our camp where set our tents. Overnight stay at Karang Khola.

  • Day 12 Trek back to Yalbang/Salle Khola.

    One of the longer days of our trip, today, we make our way towards Yalbang. Heading out of Karang Khola, the journey once again makes its way towards Syakup La Pass (4,214m) enjoying views of the Saipal Himalayas. Once again finding the banks of Puiyan Khola, we make our way towards the suspension bridge over Karnali River crossing it to Chala. After a brief rest, we pick up our pace and head towards Yalbang. Overnight stay at Yalbang.

  • Day 13 Trek back to Dharapuri.

    Leaving Yalbang, we make our way through the fields of barely and buckwheat gradually ascending through Nepali flatlands. Back at the hilly region, we are welcomed by lush green forests and rural landscapes all while being accompanied by Karnali River. Reaching the hamlet of Kermi, we continue downhill all the way to Dharapuri. Overnight stay at Dharapuri.

  • Day 14 Trek back to Simikot.

    The final day of our trek today we head back to Simikot. Heading out of Dharapuri, the trail picks up where it left through winding through lush green forests and pleasant rural landscapes. The journey is a shorter one and in no time we find ourselves in Simikot. We also take time to tour around the local region enjoying the local delicacies before celebrating the successful completion of our trek. Overnight stay at Simikot.

  • Day 15 Fly back to Nepalgunj then Kathmandu.

    The day begins early as we make our way back to the city of Nepalgunj. The 55-minute flight gives us one final chance to bid goodbye to the Himalayas. From Nepalgunj, we board another flight heading back to Kathmandu. After touching down at Kathmandu, we head directly back to the hotel where much-needed refreshments await. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 16 Free Day.

    Today will be a free day where you get to choose your own adventure. You are free to stay back at the hotel enjoying the amenities our make your way down to the local areas. Enjoy the diverse culture and way of life of Nepalese people. Make sure you try the Newari dishes while you explore the city. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 17 Departure/You will be transferred to Airport for your onward flight.

    Our representatives will once again drive you back to Tribhuvan International Airport in time for your flight back home. We hope you had a lovely time with us and we look forward to seeing you again.
