Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is one of the most pristine peak climbing journeys located in the Annapurna Conservation Area. The climb to the top of the Tharpu Chuli, also known as Tent Peak (5563m), takes you through the culturally prosperous Gurung villages. Lying directly opposite to the majestic Machhapuchhre (6997m), the peak is easily accessible from Annapurna Base Camp. As such, the venture into the Annapurna Sanctuary offers a perfect blend of cultural opulence, natural melodrama, and challenging climbs.

Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing trip accounts for a total of 18 days. It begins upon your arrival at Kathmandu. You’ll embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley and explore the scenic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Afterward, you’ll head 200km west to the touristic city of Pokhara. A short commute northwest of Pokhara will bring you to Nayapul, from where you’ll commence the trek. You’ll take a detour west and head towards Tikhedhunga. A neatly structured 3,200 stone steps from Ulleri will take you to the village of Ghorepani. You’ll move northeast to Chhomrong via Tadapani and continue along the usual Annapurna base camp trail. You’ll pass through the quaint villages of Sinuwa, Bamboo, Deurali, Dovan and Machhapuchhre Base Camp before arriving at ABC. Tharpu Chuli lies close to Annapurna base camp. A moderate climb will bring you to Tharpu Chuli Base Camp (4,910m) from where you’ll begin climbing the peak. An arduous ascent up the North West Ridge will take you to the top from where you can catch the pristine sight of Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Annapurna massif, Baraha Shikhar (7,200m), and Gangapurna (7,454m) among other peaks. You’ll explore the hidden valley around the Tharpu Chuli before retracing your path back to Pokhara via Bamboo and Jhinu Danda. After you relax at the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda, the trip concedes upon your return to Kathmandu.
