Island Peak (6,189m), also known as the Imja Tse, is located in the middle of the striking Chhukung valley. Island Peak Climbing traverses the Sagarmatha National Park, a natural UNESCO world heritage site, and reaches the summit of the Island Peak (6,189m). The journey follows the classic Everest Base Camp trail to conclude in a spectacular panorama of peaks like the Mt. Everest (8,848m), Nuptse (7,861m), and Lhotse (8,516m). The trip also offers plenty of cultural interactions along with the Sherpa villages like Manche, Tengboche, and Dingboche.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you head to your respective hotel in Kathmandu City. Next, you take a scenic flight to Lukla and land at one of the most dangerous airports in the world. Once at Lukla, the real trekking starts. Starting your trek towards Phakding, you walk past the forests of pine and rhododendron and cross few suspension bridges. The trail follows the majestic Bhote Koshi River as you march towards Monjo. From Mojo, you embark on a journey through the Sagarmatha National Park and relish its bio-diversity. Finally, you reach Namche via Jorsalle. Similarly, crossing several settlements such as Tengboche, Dingboche, and Chhukung, you reach Island Peak Base Camp. These routes offer you with bountiful insights upon the Sherpa culture, their heritage, and Himalayan lifestyle. From Island Peak Base Camp, the ascent to the summit officially begins. On the way to the summit, you cross glacial moraines and steep climbs with the guidance and support of Sherpa guides. A steep climb to the top of a ridge marks your arrival at the top of the Island Peak (6189m). From the summit, you can immerse in the panoramic view of mountains like Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kusum Khangkaru (6,367m), and the Mount Everest (8,848m). Thereon, you return to Lukla following the same trail. Spring and autumn are the best time for Island Peak Climbing.
