Arun Valley Trek towards EBC

Duration: 2 Nights 3 Days

The Arun Valley Trek towards EBC follows one of the lesser-traveled trekking routes in Eastern Nepal. Exploring the Sagarmatha National Park and Makalu Barun National Park, the trek is a glorious journey offering sights of the majestic Himalayas like the Mt. Everest (8,848m). Walking along with the Sherpa villages, Arun Valley Trek towards EBC is blessed with amazing natural beauty and traditional culture. The journey offers plenty of enticing adventures as the travelers visit Tengboche Monastery, Kalapatthar, and Arun Valley among others.

The journey commences from Kathmandu and soon heads to Tumlingtar on a scenic flight. A short drive will lead you to the trailhead of the trek at Kattike Ghat. The trek follows the banks of the Arun River going through rich vegetation, incredible natural habitats and ethnic villages. Going through sal forests you are accompanied by the Arun river as you set foot on the Rai, Chettri, Brahmin, and Sherpa settlements. Walking past open meadows and crossing suspension bridges you are welcomed by the Irkhuwa Khola. You also encounter the Hongu Khola as you make your way towards the Everest Mountains. You go through the lively settlement of Namche and Dingboche walking up towards Thukla and reach Lobuche. With staggering views of the magnificent snow peaks to crossing ridges and narrow passes, the trek to Gorakshep promises a remarkable experience. From Gorakshep, you trek to the Everest Base Camp on the same day and hike to Kalapatthar on the next morning. The Everest Base Camp sits gently in the lap of the Mt. Everest (8,848m). Similarly, Kalapatthar provides a breathtaking view of the Mt. Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,861m), and other mountains.
