Stretched over 932sq.km. of an area, Chitwan National Park is located to the south of Kathmandu in the low lands of inner Terai. Huge part of National Park is covered with floodplains of Narayani River and Rapti River. It is an ecologically diverse area that is paradise to bird watchers. Get close to nature and witness rare views of wide varieties of flora and fauna.
There are several ways to explore Chitwan National Park. You can take a nature walk, take a jeep ride, participate in elephant back riding and choose canoeing in Rapti River. Always walk close to your guide and never walk alone in the jungle. While exploring the jungle, you will be greeted with views of rare wildlife. Ferocious beasts like one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger and pythons have found their shelter in the forest. Elephant back riding is the safest way to explore the forest and enjoy the view of biodiversity. You can witness crocodiles basking on the bank of the river in Rapti River through canoeing. Canoeing also provides an opportunity to witness different species of local and migratory birds that come to the river in search of food and water.
Along with rhino and tiger, Chitwan National Park also provides shelter to leopard, deer, sloth bears, boar, civets, cats, and snakes. You can witness more than 400 local and migratory birds including hawks, woodpeckers, falcons, and kingfisher. You will also visit nearby Tharu village and witness their unique stick dance. We operate a 6days Chitwan Jungle Safari tour itinerary.
