Arun Valley Trek towards EBC.

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m) & transfer to hotel.

    Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International airport, our company representatives will receive you. As you continue on a drive to your hotel, you can also enjoy the hustle of Kathmandu City. You can head to the Newari markets and restaurants to enjoy authentic food cuisines. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and drive to Kattike Ghat (8,40m): 45 min flight & 4 hrs drive.

    Taking an early morning flight from Kathmandu, you arrive at Tumlingtar in eastern Nepal. During the flight you catch views of the Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Gaurishankar, Langtang, and other magnificent Himalayan ranges. The drive begins through the forested road tracks descending through farms to reach Kumal Gaon. Crossing a bridge you reach Bheteni and walk along the south bank of the Arun River to Kattike Ghat. Overnight stay at Kattike Ghat.

  • Day 3 Trek from Kattike Ghat to Gothe Bazaar (800m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    Walking through the open meadows and passing a bridge over Arun River, you arrive at the small settlement of Baluwabensi. Then the trail ascends into Sal forests passing numerous villages and going through rice terraces you reach the hamlet Rai village of Marduwa. From there passing clusters of ochre and local mud-brick houses you walk along the Irkhuwa Khola to arrive at Gothe Bazaar. Overnight stay at Gothe Bazaar.

  • Day 4 Trek from Gothe Bazaar to Salpa Phedi (2,415m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    The trail ascends going through small Sherpa and Rai villages to cross a suspension bridge over the Irkhuwa Khola. Reaching Dobane you pass through the lovely villages of Tendo and Tallo Phedi before ascending again through terraced fields. Going further through a damp forest following the south bank of the Irkhuwa Khola you arrive at Phedi. There are some tea shops and local lodges here as well. Overnight stay at Salpa Phedi.

  • Day 5 Trek from Salpa Phedi to Guranse (3,075m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    The trail ascends further going along small streams and through dense forests. Passing small villages and terrace farms you walk through stone paths towards the rhododendron, birch and oak forests. As you walk along the Irkhuwa River to the south and Sanu Khola, you reach Phedi. Then descending down, it is a short walk before arriving at the village of Guranse. Overnight stay at Guranse.

  • Day 6 Trek from Guranse to Gudel (1,640m) via Salpa pass (3,570m): 6-7 hrs walk.

    Leaving Guranse you walk towards Sanam. Walking along the trail, you come across beautiful chortens marking the Sherpa influence in the area. Walking down towards the Hongu Khola, you go through forested rails and also cross the Salpa Pass (3,570m). Descending further you reach Sanam, from where the Rai village of Gudel is a couple of hours away. Overnight stay at Gudel.

  • Day 7 Trek from Gudel to Khiraule (2,360m): 3-4 hrs walk.

    Today the walk is fairly much shorter than the day before. Walking along the trail, you cross a suspension bridge over the Hongu River to reach Bung village. The lower areas with rice fields are inhabited by the Rai whereas the upper areas are inhabited by the Sherpa. Walking further you arrive at the settlement of Khiraule. Overnight stay at Khiraule.

  • Day 8 Trek from Khiraule to Gai Kharka (2,450m) via Surke La Pass (3,100m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    Walking uphill away from the village of Khiraule, you pass through the forest of pines, rhododendron, and oaks. Walking under the shade of the forest you reach the Surke La Pass (3100m). Descending from the narrow pass you descend towards Gai Kharka. En route, you also pass numerous monasteries and Sherpa villages. Overnight stay at Gai Kharka.

  • Day 9 Trek from Gai Kharka to Panggom (2,670m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    Descending further, you cross the Hinku Khola and walk towards the Dudh Koshi. The trail gets a bit steep leading north towards a small village inhabited by local Sherpas. As you exit the Makalu Barun Buffer Zone, you head to Sibuje. Then the walk is fairly smooth to arrive at the village of Panggom. Overnight stay at Panggom.

  • Day 10 Trek from Panggom to Bupsa (2,350m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    You ascend and descend along the trail to Bupsa which sometimes goes through lush forests. Shortly after leaving Panggom, you arrive at Lehjikharaka and continue to Kharikhola. You cross the Khari River to head towards Bupsa. Going through small settlements of Sherpa, you take a steep uphill to arrive at the village of Bupsa. Overnight stay at Bupsa.

  • Day 11 Trek from Bupsa to Surke (2,400m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    Today the trail goes uphill through rhododendron and oak forests. Crossing the Kharte Danda and Kari La Pass (3,880m), you reach the village of Paiya. From there walking further the path with bends and curves you cross Sebu Danda and Chutok La (2,945m). From Chutok La you can spot the settlement of Lukla and the Tenzing-Hilary airport. From here descending down you reach the village of Surke. Overnight stay at Surke.

  • Day 12 Trek from Surke to Phakding (2,652m): 4-5 hrs walk.

    Walking along the trail, it turns to the west side merging with the main trail heading towards Lukla. The trail turns and bends as you reach the settlement of Muse. Going uphill to Chheplung, you again join the trail to Lukla. As you walk the path going up and down you reach Thare Khola. Going further you reach the village of Ghat and Phakding after an hour of walk. Overnight stay at Phakding.

  • Day 13 Trek from Phakding to Namche (3,440m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    After having a good breakfast, next comes the trek to the famous Namche Bazaar. To get to Namche Bazaar, you go through the Sagarmatha National Park. Here, you have the chance to see various kinds of rare creatures. As you approach Namche, you will pass yaks and their shepherds, and there will be the Khumbu Valley waiting for you. Namche Bazar has a lot of café, restaurants, and other modern luxuries to cater to the needs of the travelers. Overnight stay at Namche.

  • Day 14 Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization & excursion around places.

    You have a day to acclimatize at the Namche as it is necessary to get used to the high altitude. The Namche Bazaar is a colorful place as it is the trade hub of the Khumbu region. While at Namche, you can visit the Syangboche Airstrip that lies on the hill right above the town. You can also go and visit the photo gallery and the Sherpa Culture Museum. Similarly, Everest View Hotel is another prime destination for hikers. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 15 Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,867m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    After leaving Namche you head for Tengboche which is an easy trail. While walking along the Dudh Koshi River, you enjoy the magnificent views of the Himalayas like Thamserku (6,608m) and Cholatse (6,335m). Upon reaching Tengboche, you will also get to visit the Tengboche Monastery which is the largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

  • Day 16 Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    The trail from Tengboche to Dingboche is filled with sights of the Himalayas. You also get to visit the Pangboche Monastery en route. Finally, crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja River, you reach Dingboche. Dingboche provides a beautiful panorama view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856 m), Mt. Imja Tse (6,189 m), and other mountains of the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

  • Day 17 Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,928m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    After leaving Dingboche you head towards Lobuche. Trekking along the Khumbu River, you pass chortens and small monasteries to arrive at Thukla. Thukla boasts an amazing view of various mountains such as Lobuche (6,119m), Pumo Ri (7,165m), Cholatse (6,335m), and Nuptse (7,861m). After crossing the Thukla Pass (4,830m), you trek alongside the Lobuche Glacier to reach Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

  • Day 18 Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,160m) & continue to Everest Base Camp (5,380m) then back to Gorakshep (6-7 hrs walk).

    After having breakfast you will be trekking along the Khumbu Glacier to cross the Lobuche Pass (5,110m). Thereon, a descent will take you to Gorakshep. After resting for a while, you continue your quest to the Everest Base Camp. Here, you will be standing at the foothill of the highest mountain on Earth. The views of Nuptse (7,861m), Khumbutse (6,665m), and Lingtren (6,749m) along with the Khumbu Glacier are breath-taking from the base camp. Later, you return to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.

  • Day 19 Morning hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m) & trek to Pheriche (4,243m): 5-6 hrs walk.

    Finishing your early breakfast you have an early morning hike to Kalapatthar to witness the stunning sunrise over the Himalayas in Everest range including the Mt. Everest (8,848m) itself. Kalapatthar is also popular for its view of Lhotse (8,516m) Ama Dablam (6,856m), Khumbutse (6,665m), Nuptse (7,861m), and other numerous mountains. Then trekking downhill, passing the Changri glacier, walking through Lobuche and Thukla you arrive at Pheriche. Overnight stay at Pheriche.

  • Day 20 Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3,860m): 4-5 hrs walk.

    Walking down from Pheriche to Tengboche is a fairly easy trail. As you retrace your footsteps, you reach Pheriche Pass (4,270m). Passing Orsho, you begin to head west towards Somare. A thick spread of monasteries welcomes you to Pangboche. After you explore a few of these Sherpa monasteries, you head reach Debuche followed by Tengboche. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

  • Day 21 Trek from Tengboche to Monjo (2,835m) via Namche Bazaar: 5-6 hrs walk.

    The journey back to the Namche Bazaar from Tengboche is a gradual downhill path. This trail passes Khyangjuma and Sanasa to reach Namche. After arriving at Namche, you climb a small ridge and continue on the downhill trail. The trek will be alongside the majestic Dudh Koshi River all the way to Monjo. Monjo is also the entrance of the Sagarmatha National Park. Overnight stay at Monjo.

  • Day 22 Trek back to Lukla: 5 hrs walk.

    Today, you walk towards Lukla. As you leave the company of the national park, the Himalayas will bid you graceful farewell on the trek to Lukla. Upon arriving at Lukla you part ways with the porters who helped you complete the venture successfully. You can also celebrate the completion of the trek upon arriving at Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.

  • Day 23 Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

    You will take the flight back to Kathmandu with the last gaze at the magnificent Himalayas from the plane. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you can explore the world heritage sites in the Valley. You can also feel free to rest and enjoy the hotel amenities for the remainder of the day. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 24 Farewell, departure transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport.

    A company representative will escort you to the airport for your flight. We bid you farewell from the land of the Himalayas. You are always welcome for another visit.
