Gokyo Lake Trek.

  • Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu Nepal (1,345m) & transfer to the hotel.

    Today you will be landing. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff members will receive you and immediately transfer to your respective hotel. Your activities for the day can involve sightseeing and exploring the nearby area. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing & Trek Preparation.

    After breakfast, you will be ready for sightseeing around the valley. A local guide will take you UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These sites tell the stories of ancient Nepal and the culture of those times. You will also make additional preparations for the trek. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 3 Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,800m): 3-4 hrs.

    Early in the morning, you will take a short scenic flight to Lukla above the snow-capped mountains and observe sceneries of numerous Himalayan ranges on the way. After a quick break at Lukla, you will continue your walk towards Phakding alongside the bank of Bhote Koshi River. Enjoying stunning views of Kusum Khangkaru (6,367m) and other mountains, you will finally reach Phakding. Overnight stay at Phakding.

  • Day 4 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m): 5-6 hrs.

    From Phakding, you will start your trek towards Namche Bazaar. The trail will take you through the forest of pine and rhododendron. Along the way, you will walk past the settlements of Bengkar, Monjo, and Jorsalle. Walking along with the presence of endangered wildlife and natural flora and fauna in the Sagarmatha National Park, you will cross few suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls before reaching Namche Bazaar.   • Day 5 Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar.

    Today is acclimatization day and we spend the day exploring around the villages. After breakfast, you can take a short hike to Everest View Hotel, from where you will get a glorious view of Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Mt. Everest (8,848m). Khumjung and Khunde villages are great destinations to understand the Sherpa lifestyle and culture whilst helping your acclimatization process. In the evening, roam around the local market, try local foods, and rest. Overnight stay at Namche.

  • Day 6 Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Phortse Village (3,810m): 5-6 hrs.

    Leaving behind beautiful Namche, you will continue your walk towards Phortse Village. After frequent difficulties through the forested area of oak and pine, you will reach the settlement of Sanasa where you will stop for a quick lunch. If you are lucky, you might encounter with wildlife such as musk deer, leopard, wild monkey, a mountain goat on the way. From here, a steep climb to the top of the ridge takes you to Mong La pass. Once at the top, you will get stunning views of Taboche (6,367m), Mt. Khumbila (5,761m), Mt. Thamserku (6,608m), Ama Dablam (6,856m) and other snow-capped mountains. You will finally reach Phortse Village crossing the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River. Overnight stay at Phortse Village.

  • Day 7 Phortse to Machhermo (4,470m): 5-6 hrs.

    After breakfast, you will start your trek enjoying the sublime view of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m) and Cho Oyu (8,188m). In the early first hour, the trail passes through Dhole and proceeds towards Lhabarma. Once at Lhabarma, you will walk through the rhododendron forest and cross a few suspension bridges and waterfalls. Passing Luza on the way, the trek for the day settles down at Machhermo. Overnight stay at Machhermo.

  • Day 8 Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800m): 5-6 hrs.

    From Machhermo, a steep climb to the top of the ridge takes you to Ngozumpa Glacier crossing the settlement of Phangga. Ngozumpa Glacier is the largest glacier of this region. Along with the amusement of wildlife and lush vegetation, you will ascend a vantage point that offers a mesmerizing view of the surrounding landscapes. You arrive at the first of the Gokyo Lakes at Longponga shortly followed by the second- Taujung Tsho. As we set our sights on the third lake- Gokyo, we arrive at the village located north to the Gokyo Lake. Overnight stay at Gokyo.

  • Day 9 Hike to Gokyo RI (5,360m) & back to Gokyo (4,800m): 5-6 hrs.

    Today is the most exciting day of our trek. Early in the morning, you will start your climb to Gokyo Ri (5,360m). In the beginning, you will walk past sloppy landscapes and a few forested areas. As you move forward, you will cross-rocky moraines and high passes. Once at the top, you will get a panoramic view of Lhotse (8,516m), Cho Oyo (8,188m), and Mount Everest (8,848m) along with many other mountains in the Everest region. With a content heart and feeling of accomplishment, you will now return to Gokyo following back the same trail. Overnight stay at Gokyo.

  • Day 10 Gokyo to Dhole (4,200m), 3-4 hrs.

    On the 10th day, you will descend towards the settlement of Dhole following back the same trail. Starting your walk from Gokyo, you will first march towards Phangga enjoying the surroundings and biodiversity of this region. Walking past the forest of juniper and pine, you will proceed towards Machhermo. Along the way, you can savor the glimpses of several snow-capped mountains. Finally, after a walk of three to four hours, you will reach Dhole. Overnight stay at Dhole.

  • Day 11 Dhole to Namche (3,440m): 5-6 hrs.

    From Dhole, you will start your trek towards Namche. The trail passes through Phortse Village and proceeds towards Sansa alongside the bank of Imja Khola. The trail also gives the pleasure of experiencing the wildlife, green forest and natural flora and fauna along with a glorious view of snow-capped mountains such as Ama Dablam (6,856m) and Thamserku (6,608m). Later, you arrive at Namche Bazaar for the second time on the journey. Overnight stay at Namche.

  • Day 12 Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,650m): 6-7 hrs.

    Early in the morning, you will leave Namche and proceeds towards Luka. Crossing the settlement of Jorsalle, Monjo, and Bengkar, you will reach Phakding. You exit the Sagarmatha National Park and numerous Sherpa settlements. Crossing suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River, you will finally reach Lukla. It will take you about six to seven hours to reach your destination. Overnight stay at Lukla.

  • Day 13 Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu (1345m): 35 mins.

    From Lukla, you will take a flight back to Kathmandu. It is a scenic flight of 35mins above the green hills and mountains. Once at the capital, you can rest at the hotel and head to the spas and wellness centers in the city. In the evening, you can roam around the Thamel area, buy a souvenir and even enjoy its nightlife. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 14 Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.

    Today is your last day in Nepal. We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport two hours prior to your scheduled flight. You can even share your experience with us on the way to the airport. Goodbye.
