Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek.

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    The majestic Himalayas will welcome you before you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. A company representative will receive you and take you to the hotel in the city. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and flight to Suketar.

    Taking a flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and then to Suketar, you will arrive at the Suketar Airport in Taplejung. The flight offers aerial views of the landscapes in eastern Nepal. Upon reaching Suketar, you can explore the markets and observe the lifestyle of the local people. Overnight stay at Suketar.

  • Day 3 Trek from Suketar to Tembewa (1,835m).

    The trek begins as you head towards Tembewa. The trek crosses Deurali Pass (2,600 m) and reaches Lalikharka on a gradual descent. Continuing the downward trail, the trek leads you to Tembewa River. After crossing the river, you reach Hokcake and finally reach Tembewa. En route, you can walk through a dense forest, open meadows, and small tea shops. Overnight stay at Tembewa.

  • Day 4 Trek from Tabaha to Khesewa (2,110m).

    After breakfast walking towards Khesewa, you reach the village of Phawa. Continuing on, the trail crosses the Phawa Khola on a suspension bridge to begin an uphill trail. Walking alongside the terrace farms and forests, you can catch stunning glimpses of the Kanchenjunga ranges. Passing Kande Bhanjyang, you follow a level trail to reach Khesewa. Overnight stay at Khesewa.

  • Day 5 Trek from Khesewa to Mamankhe (1,785m).

    Today, the trail descends towards Kabeli Khola. Passing through lively forests and crossing a small stream you pass small settlements of Limbu, Rai, and Magar along the way. Continuing the journey, you trek to the Phungphung Danda. The trail runs along the Kabeli River and, later, crosses the Mamankhe River. From here, Mamankhe is a short walk away. Overnight stay at Mamankhe.

  • Day 6 Trek from Mamankhe to Yamphudin (1,706m).

    The trekking is done mostly uphill today. Walking beside the Kabeli Khola you can enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Passing Samethum and Ekim, the trek reaches the confluence of Kabeli River and Amji River. From here, you reach Makduwa check post and continue ahead to reach the Yamphudin settlement. Overnight stay at Yamphudin.

  • Day 7 Trek from Yamphudin to Amji Khola.

    Walking on the village paths you pass terrace farms and meadows where the cattle graze. The trails are covered with rhododendron as you continue along the Amji Khola. The trek reaches the vicinity of Chittre village as you tread along uninhabited trails to arrive at the resting point for the day. You admire the views of the Amji Khola and the scenic hills as you stop the trek. Overnight stay at Amji Khola.

  • Day 8 Trek from Amji Khola to Tortong (2,872m).

    After breakfast, you walk through forest paths and grassy meadows. The trail goes upward initially and upon reaching the Deurali Danda (3,292 m) you begin descending. Walking through rhododendron forests with beautiful views of Kanchenjunga and other mountains, you arrive at Tortong. The village is located at the base of the Semethulng Danda. Overnight stay at Tortong.

  • Day 9 Trek from Tortong to Tseram (3,870m).

    After breakfast, walking towards Tseram you reach the beautiful valley of Lalung. Passing through rhododendron and pine forests you can enjoy the views of the Yalung Glacier. The trail flirts on the edge of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area to reach Anda Phedi. Thereon, you make a steep climb to Tseram. Overnight stay at Tseram.

  • Day 10 Rest day at Tseram.

    Today you have the day to rest and regain energy at Tseram. This day also helps you to acclimatize to the increasing altitude as the trek nears the mark of reaching 4,000 meters. You can explore the small settlements nearby and observe the lifestyle of the local people. You can also opt to hike around the nearby surroundings and enjoy the views of the Rathong, Kabru, and Yalung glaciers. Overnight stay at Tseram.

  • Day 11 Trek from Tseram to Ramche (4,580m).

    Walking towards Ramche, the trail gets steep. With the view of the glacial moraines, you reach Yalung Bara. From there you go up and down a few hills meeting Sherpa settlements before reaching Ramche. The trek continues alongside the Yalung Glacier for most of the part. If time permits, you can also visit the Ramche Monastery locate a short distance away from the village. Overnight stay at Ramche.

  • Day 12 Trek from Ramche to Yalung Glacier and Kanchenjunga Base Camp (4,500m) and back to Ramche

    Beginning your day early, you make your way to the trail passing through the Yalung Glacier. Waling above the ridgeline, the Yalung glacier has a spectacular view of the Kanchenjunga South face (8,476 m). Oktang Monastery, en route to the base camp, is a worthwhile exploration to get insights on the history and religious beliefs prevalent in the region. The final leg of the trek is rather easy and descends to the Kanchenjunga south base camp at 4,500 meters. The base camp is not visited by many tourists, giving it a touch of solitude accompanied by the beautiful mountain vistas in Kanchenjunga ranges. You can also relish the sights of the Kanchenjunga (8,586 m) from the base camp. Later, you return to Ramche.

  • Day 13 Trek from Ramche to Tortong (2,872m).

    Leaving Ramche, you move along the Yalung Glacier. Later, you join the company of the Simbuwa River which originates from the Yalung Glacier. Enjoying the views of the Kanchenjunga Himalayas to your back, you make your way through blue pine and rhododendron forests. The trek crosses Yamgachha River before taking a downhill route to Tortong. Overnight stay at Tortong.

  • Day 14 Trek from Tortong to Yamphudin (1,706m).

    Walking towards Yamphudin, the trail descends in the companionship of herds of yaks and their herders along the way. The trails see an increase in altitude as you climb to the top of Lasiya Bhanjyang (3,310 m). The sights of the Himalayas and the lush landscapes are mesmerizing from the top. Passing through forests down the small paths, you go through small Rai and Limbu villages to arrive at Yamphudin. Overnight stay at Yamphudin.

  • Day 15 Trek from Yamphudin to Phumphe (1,858m).

    Heading towards Phumphe you meet the Kabeli Khola. Crossing the river you walk through forest paths and descend down the hill towards Phumphe. The trek retraces the steps you took earlier on the journey and leads you back to the Mamankhe. Thereon, you make a climb to the Phumphe settlement. Overnight stay at Phumphe.

  • Day 16 Trek from Phumphe to Phawa Khola.

    Descending further down you reach the Pun and Khesewa village. Walking along, you go through Rai settlements and terrace farms bordered by stone walls. The trek also passes the Sincheburi Bhanjyang to lead you to Kande Bhanjyang. Heading wast from the Bhanjyang, you trek through the forests of rhododendron and juniper to reach Phawa Khola. Overnight stay at Phawa Khola.

  • Day 17 Trek from Phawa Khola to Suketar (2,420m).

    The trail from Phawa Khola to Suketar is a fairly easy one when compared to the arduous climbs on the days before. The trek crosses paths with Tembewa and Lalikharka on the way to arrive at Suketar. You can spend the rest of the day as you prefer. Enjoy local cuisines and witness the traditional lifestyle on the final day before yu return to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Suketar.

  • Day 18 Flight to Biratnagar and then to Kathmandu.

    You take a flight back to Biratnagar to take another flight back to Kathmandu. You can relish a final glimpse of the Kanchenjunga Himalayan ranges before arriving at the capital city of Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you can opt to rest at your hotel or explore the city. Meanwhile, do taste the local Newari dishes and Momo as you come to the end of your journey in Nepal.

  • Day 19 Final Departure.

    We will take you to the airport at the scheduled time and bid you goodbye from the land of the Himalayas.
