Khopra Ridge Trek.

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu.

    When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will go through custom and visa formalities. As you exit from the Arrival Hall, you will find our representative waiting for you with a placard in his hand. Look for your name in a placard. After receiving you, he will transfer you to the three-star category hotel. Get refreshed. Later, you will get a briefing regarding the trip. Explore the surroundings. Have a comfortable stay.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu.

    After breakfast, you will join for guided Kathmandu City Tour. Out of 10 UNESCO cultural sites in Nepal, 4 of them exist in Kathmandu alone making it the historical city. We will start the tour by visiting the Pashupatinath Complex which is the most significant Hindu Temple in Nepal. Non- Hindus are not allowed access in the main temple premises but you can still observe cremation ceremony at the bank of Bagmati River. You will also visit Bouddhanath which was listed in the world heritage site in 1979 A.D. This is also known as mini Tibet in Kathmandu. Next stop will be at Swoyambhunath which is the oldest Buddhist Stupa located at the top of the hill. Swoyambhunath is the oldest stupa that dates 2500 years back. Drive further to Kathmandu Durbar Square- the ancient Royal Palace. Hanumandhoka Museum, Kasthamandap Temple, KalBhairav Statue and House of Living Goddess are places of interest. Return to the hotel for a comfortable stay. In the afternoon, you can shop for any trekking equipment that you require.

  • Day 3 Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Syauli Bazaar, Trek to Ghandruk.

    Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Syauli Bazaar, Trek to Ghandruk (30min flight, 2hrs drive, 3hrs trek)

    20minutes of flight takes us to Pokhara from Kathmandu. We recommend you to sit on the right side of the plane for close-up views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and other peaks and mountains. From Pokhara, we will drive to Syauli Bazaar in a private vehicle. Khopra Trek begins from Syauli Bazar. We will head towards Ghandruk which is a large Gurung village. Majority of family members get recruited in Indian and British soldiers as a chief occupation.

  • Day 4 Ghandruk to Tadapani (2,590m) 3 hrs.

    Ghandruk greets us with panoramic views of Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna South Mountain, and Hiunchuli Mountain. We will follow the uphill trail to Deurali through blooming rhododendron forest. We can get views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and Hiunchuli mountains from most part of the trail. We will proceed further via Tibetan villages where we can buy gift items. Stay overnight at Tadapani.

  • Day 5 Tadapani to BayeliKharka (3,420m) 6 hrs.

    Leaving the main path, we will proceed through the remote area. We will gradually climb through rhododendron and oak forest. After a brief descent, we will climb through rhododendron forest. Walking past clearing area and temporary huts, we will reach to the top of bigger ridge at Dobato from where we will climb further to BayeliKharka. Stay overnight in BayeliKharka.

  • Day 6 BayeliKharka to Upper Chistibung (2,975m) 4 hrs.

    After an early breakfast, we will lower down through the open ground to Lower Chistibung. Taking gradual ascend through the forest, we will reach Upper Chistibung where we can find temporary herder’s settlement. Lophophorus and Himalayan Thar can be found in this area. Stay overnight in Upper Chistibung.

  • Day 7 Trek to Khopra Ridge (3,660m) 3-4 hrs.

    Leaving Khopra ridge, we will climb above the tree line. Walking through alpine meadows, we will reach Khopra Ridge. The top of Khopra Ridge allows a close-up view of Annapurna South. We will descend to a viewpoint for the view of Kali Gandaki River that can be seen in the deep valley. We will enjoy views of Dhaulagiri Mountain, NilgiriMountain and Annapurna South from Khopra.

  • Day 8 Rest day in Khopra Ridge, Tour of Khair Lake (4,500m) 10-11 hrs.

    We will spend one more day on Khopra ridge as this is the ultimate destination of Khopra Trek. We will take a side trip to Khopra Lake. The area around Khopra Lake allows views of Fang and other mountains. Khopra is the sacred lake and one of the pilgrimage site of Hindus. Stay overnight in Khopra Ridge.

  • Day 9 Trek to Swanta Village (2,200m): 5 hrs.

    We will begin the return trip on this day. We will follow the steep trail down to Swanta village. We can get a scenic view of Dhaulagiri. We will walk through traditional houses to Swanta village where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 10 Trek to Ulleri (2,050m): 5-6 hrs.

    Leaving Swanta, we will lower down via fields to a small stream. We will walk along with local water mill to the suspension bridge. Crossing the bridge, we will climb to Chittre village from where we will head towards Ghorepani. Walking through rhododendron forest, we will reachUlleri where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 11 Trek to NayaPul, Drive to Pokhara: 5-6 hrs trek, 1hr drive.

    From Ulleri, we will walk through a pleasant trail that allows scenic views of hills in western Nepal. Walking past Birethanti village, we will reach Nayapul. Khopra Trek ends at Nayapulfrom where we will drive to Pokhara. Stay overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

  • Day 12 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

    After taking lunch in Pokhara, we will follow Prithvi Highway back to Kathmandu from where you will be transferred to the hotel. Spend your free time as you like. Take rest or go shopping in Thamel. Stay overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 13 Final Departure.

    You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
