Panchpokhari Trek.

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel.

    When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will go through custom and visa formalities. As you exit from the Arrival Hall, you will find our representative waiting for you with a placard in his hand. Look for your name in a placard. After receiving you, he will transfer you to the three-star category hotel. Get refreshed. Later, you will get a briefing regarding the trip. Explore the surroundings. Have a comfortable stay.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Trek preparation.

    After breakfast, you will join for guided Kathmandu City Tour. Out of 10 UNESCO cultural sites in Nepal, 4 of them exist in Kathmandu alone making it the historical city. We will start the tour by visiting the Pashupatinath Complex which is the most significant Hindu Temple in Nepal. Non- Hindus are not allowed access in the main temple premises but you can still observe cremation ceremony at the bank of Bagmati River. You will also visit Bouddhanath which was listed in the world heritage site in 1979 A.D. This is also known as mini Tibet in Kathmandu. Next stop will be at Swoyambhunath which is the oldest Buddhist Stupa located at the top of the hill. Swoyambhunath is the oldest stupa that dates 2500 years back. Drive further to Kathmandu Durbar Square- the ancient Royal Palace. Hanumandhoka Museum, Kasthamandap Temple, KalBhairav Statue and House of Living Goddess are places of interest. Return to hotel for a comfortable stay. In the afternoon, you can shop for any trekking equipment that you require.

  • Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Chautara.

    It takes 5hrs in private vehicle to reach Chautara from Kathmandu. We will follow Araniko Highway to Chautara which is the District Headquarter of Sindupalchowk. We will stay overnight at Chautara. This is a good place for enjoying mountain views. We can explore around Chautara village to know about local life and culture.

  • Day 4 Trek from Chautara to Phurse 4-5 hrs.

    Panchpokhari Trek begins from Chautara. We will walk past many multi-ethnic villages where Brahmins, Chhetris and Rai ethnics live in harmony. Following the trail along rice terraces, we will enjoy the view of Gaurishankar Mountain, DorjeLakpaPeak and other peaks and mountains as we climb up to Phurse. We will cross the vast expanse of the meadow where we can see local cattle grazing over lush green vegetation and reach Phurse village which is inhabited by Tamang ethnics. Stay overnight in Phurse.

  • Day 5 Phurse to Kami Kharka 6 hrs.

    Leaving Phurse early in the morning, we will traverse oak, pine, and rhododendron forest and climb uphill to the top of ridge. Moving further, we will arrive at Kami Kharka where locals take their cattle for grazing. We will enjoy views of Gaurishankar Mountain, Jugal Mountain range and other peaks and mountains and stay overnight in Kami Kharka.

  • Day 6 Kami Kharka to Pauwa Bas 5 hrs.

    After an early morning tea, we will follow the gradually ascending trail through rhododendron, oak, and pine forest. If we are lucky, we can meet some nomadic tribe. The trail for Pauwa Bas from Kami Kharka is mostly ascending. We will stay overnight in Pauwa Bas. Pauwa Bas is used mostly as a shelter by pilgrims who visit holy Panchpokhari Lake.

  • Day 7 Pauwa Bas to HileBhanjyang 4 hrs.

    Leaving Pauwa Bas, we will follow the ascending trail for about 4hours to reach HileBhanjyang. Our journey continues through bamboo, pine, oak and rhododendron forest to the ridge named HileBhanjyang. From HileBhanjyang, we can get spectacular views of a cascading waterfall, river valley and far below, we can see native villages. Stay overnight in HileBhanjyang.

    • Altitude: 3,400m.
  • Day 8 HileBhanjyang to NasimPati 5-6 hrs.

    From HileBhanjyang, we will follow the ascending trail through the forest where we can observe wildlife like mountain deer and Lophophorus. We can get spectacular views of JugalMountain range, Gauri Shankar Mountain and other peaks and mountains. There is a rest house in NasimPati where many pilgrims take shelter. Stay overnight in NasimPati.

    • Altitude: 3,700m.
  • Day 9 NasimPati to PanchPokhari 5-6 hrs.

    This is the day that we arrive at our ultimate destination of PanchPokhari. The termPanchPokhari signifies five holy lakes. We will walk to the nearby ridge early in the morning for sunrise view. Later, we will follow the ascending path and cross a Pass to reach PanchPokhari. Great ceremony is organized during Janai Purnima that falls in full moon of August. Along with religious significance, PanchPokhari is equally fascinating for mountain views. We can get views of JugalMountain range, RolwalingMountain Range and other peaks and mountains from PanchPokhari.

  • Day 10 PanchPokhari to NasimPati 6 hrs.

    We will begin our return trek on this day. We will lower down from PanchPokhari and retrace the route back to NasimPati through the forest. There is a rest house available at NasimPati. Pati is a Nepali term for a rest house built for pilgrims. Stay overnight at Nasimpati.

  • Day 11 NasimPati to Dukhang 5 hrs.

    Leaving NasimPati, we will descend to rhododendron, pine and oak forest, juniper where we can observe wildlife like Himalayan deer and rhesus monkeys. We will walk along with chortens and follow the trail decorated with prayer flags to the pretty tiny village of Dukhang. Dukhang is inhabited mostly by Tamang ethnics. We will visit the local monastery before staying overnight in Dukhang.

  • Day 12 Dukhang to Dhap 4-5 hrs.

    Leaving Dukhang, we will descend all the way to Indrawati River. We will walk along the bank of Indrawati River. The trail is straight and level. Walking along the terraced field, we will reach Dhap. Dhap is a tiny village ofTamangethnics. Stay overnight in Dhap.

  • Day 13 Dhap to MelamchiPul Bazaar 4-5 hrs.

    We will follow the Indrawati River and walk through different multi-ethnic villages. We can view the hydroelectricity project before we reach Tipini from where we will once again get touched with modern life. Moving further, we will reach MelamchiPul Bazaar. This Bazaar is located near to the confluence of MelamchiRiver and Indrawati River. Stay overnight in MelamchiPul Bazaar.

  • Day 14 Melamchi drive back to Kathmandu.

    As Panchpokhari Trek has come to an end, we will drive back to Kathmandu from Melamchi on this day. It takes about 4hrs of the drive to take us back to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to a hotel for a comfortable stay.

  • Day 15 Free day in Kathmandu.
