The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.

  • Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m).

    Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our airport representatives will welcome you and escort you to your hotel. There are no planned activities for today, thus you may check-in and relax and spend your time as you please. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Drive Kathmandu to Sybrubensi.

    Today, you will be traveling to Sybrubensi via a tourist bus. A beautiful resident village inside the Langtang National Park, Sybrubensi is a wonderful local community comprising of its festival culture and traditions. The famous religious Yatra “Kailash Yatra” begins from Sybrubensi as it is the spotlight for domestic and international tourism of Nepal. Overnight stay at Sybrubensi.

  • Day 3 Drive from Sybrubensi to Kerung.

    From Sybrubensi, you will be traveling northwards to Kerung today. It is an off-road drive all the way to the border. The road is wider and doubled lane and along the journey towards the border, you can see a couple of places where the signs of landslides are prominent. You will cross the friendship bridge and then finally reach Kerung. Overnight stay at Kerung.

  • Day 4 Drive from Kerung to Saga (4,640m).5-6 hrs.

    From Kerung, the journey continues crisscrossing into inner Tibet's wild and windswept country. Along the way, you will pass Nyalam / Zhangmu near Peikutso- a huge salt lake. From here, you will be heading over a small pass to reach the Brahmaputra River or the Yalung Tsangpo. After crossing the river on a bridge, you will then finally reach Saga. Overnight stay at Saga.

  • Day 5 Acclimatization Day at Saga.

    This day is reserved for acclimatization. You will spend the day at saga, enjoying the town, and spending time with your team. You can enjoy the cultural people of the town and take in its natural beauty as well. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

  • Day 6 Drive from Saga to Lake Manasarovar (4,558m) 277km, 5-6 hrs.

    Further on from Saga lies Zhongba. Crossing this settlement, you will be heading towards Mount Kailash via a series of long stretches of Tibetan plains accompanied by the views of distant peaks. From here, the drive continues heading over to the Myam-La Pass of altitude 5,150 meters to reach the east of Lake Manasarovar. Overnight stay at Lake Manasarovar.

  • Day 7 Exploration Day. Drive to Darchen (4,575m) 1 hr, 40km.

    Today, you will explore the Lake Manasarovar and enjoy its natural beauty. It is a sacred lake located between Mount Kailash (6,638m) and the Gurla Mandhata Mountain range. The lake floats beneath the holy Kailash and is considered to be formed from the mind of Gods. An optional circuit or Parikrama around Manasarovar Lake can also be done. After sending time at the lake, you will then drive to Darchen. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

  • Day 8 Kailash Kora.

    Drive from Darchen to Yama Dwar and trek to Dira Phug (5-6 hours, 4,900m)The Kailash Mountain is circumambulated by thousands of pilgrims every year. Darchen is located to the south of Mount Kailash and it is where the holy walk/Kora starts and ends. You will be performing the Kailash Kora from Tarboche from where the walk starts with the view of Mount Kailas's western frontier. After the ritual, you will then travel to Yama Dwar from where you then continue the journey on foot, trekking towards Dira Phug. Overnight stay at Dira Phug.

  • Day 9 Kailash Kora. Trek to Zuthrul Phug via Dolma La Pass (4,760m). 8-9 hrs, 19km

    From Dira Phug, you will have a morning walk, trekking on a gradual path for an hour, then climbing to reach the top at the Dolma La (5,660m), the highest point of the journey and a holy spot. At the mountain pass, you will find a big boulder that represents the goddess Dolma (Tara), festooned with prayer flags. This spot is the physical and spiritual high point of the Kailash pilgrimage. From here, you will descend to the bottoms of the hill and walk to Zuthrul Phug Gompa for an overnight stop. Overnight stay at Zuthrul Phug.

  • Day 10 Kailash Kora. Drive back to Saga.

    Today, you complete the final day of the circumambulation and have a long drive back to Saga. From Zuthrul Phug, you walk to Saga. The walk takes you along the foothills of the Mount Kailash (6,638m). You will be retracing your steps and passing by the destinations to reach the town of Saga. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Saga.

  • Day 11 Drive back to Kerung.

    From Saga, you will be taking the off-road lane again towards Kerung. The drive from Saga to Kerung takes you through some of the high mountain passes on the road. The dry landscapes and the roads dotted with Tibetan monasteries offer the glorious ride. Overnight stay at Kerung.

  • Day 12 Drive back to Kathmandu.

    You will be back to Kathmandu today, passing by all the site and destinations that you first saw at the beginning of the journey. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will also be presented with a celebratory farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of your journey. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 13 Final departure to home.

    Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be transferred back to the airport from where you will depart.
