Fantastic trip

I came to Nepal with a group of friends to do the Everest Base Camp trek. Every aspect of the trip was well put together, from the itinerary, to the unique places our guide took us that not everyone gets to see, to the lodging every step of the way. Tenzing's and Pasang's in depth knowledge of the trekking system and treks in all different areas gives them the ability to put together a high quality experience for a very reasonable price. Also the whole Everest region and Kalapathar were stunning. The towns on the way were lots of fun as well, especially Namche Bazar.

10/10 would recommend.

Reliable, flexible and good energy....

We are a couple from Copenhagen Denmark that just did the Manaslu Circuit trek arranged by Manikang. They did a really really good job and we give our best reccomandations :-)

- We had a reccemandation beforehand and arranged everything after arriving in KTM.( notice that Friday is only half working day and Saturday is closed at the permit office - permits can be made in 1 day on all other weekdays incl Sundays.
- There was instantly good chemistry and Pasang stated how he thought tings could be - and same time stated that he was flexible.
- He recommended that we met the guide before we sad yes to going with him - our guides name was Ngima -and he was extraordinary.
- we have trekked 10 times before in Nepal and this was the best.
- we will definitely use Manikang newt time

Would definitely recommend

We've had the pleasure to meet Pasang & Tenzing during our first trip to Nepal. These guys are extremely helpful and caring. Prior to our arrival, Pasang had patiently helped us to decide what to do while in Nepal. We have a 3 year old who we were bringing to Nepal with us and Pasang recommended all activities that were suitable for such a young child. We choose our itinerary and Pasang then booked all flights, hotels and activities for us and gave us the breakdown of all prices. The hotel price was lower than if we had booked the same hotel from UK. Pasang then looked after us while we were in Nepal and kept in touch daily to make sure all was as planned and booked. We had a problem at a hotel while we were checking out (the card machine was broken) and Pasang immediately phoned the hotel to sort this out for us.We felt so well looked after while in Nepal which was priceless. Thank you for all your help and hospitality! I would recommend Manikang Treks in a heartbeat.

Excellent service, fair price, great trek

The unceasingly helpful and wonderfully knowledgeable principals, Pasang and Tenzing, planned and delivered a great trek for me. I thoroughly recommend this relatively new agency, steered by two young but very experienced guides.

I wanted to go to a little-trekked area, one that I could not find reliable information online (e.g."camping trek only" which was nonsense) so I turned to Pasang who had arranged treks for me when he worked for a different agency. He was very helpful and knew the area - Timal - very well. Not surprising really given it is where he hails from!

Pasang listened to what I wanted, took my preferences on board and made suggestions for the itinerary which we amende together. Not once did he say "this is best for you", a phrase I have heard often from agents and tour operators in Nepal which actually means "this is best for me, the agent because it's an off the peg itinerary requiring no effort on my part and is more profitable".

The itinerary turned out to b great for me, passing htrough villages completely unaffected by trekking and tourism and going to a number of interesting Buddhist sites. The trek 'delivered' just what I wanted and what Pasang promised. No complaints at all.

Pasang guided me too. To be with somebody who knew the area so well and could speak the local language (Tamang, not everybody speaks Nepali, certainly not as a first language) was a boon. He interpreted conversations with locals for me.

Speaking with Pasang and Tenzing in the office before and after was always interesting. Tenzing is from the Khumbu so knows the Everest area and treks really well and Pasang has been in the industry all his working life so their knowledge is almost endless. They gave insights about Nepali life, culture and politics - their English is better than other trekking guides I have met: they are both able to communicate the nuances of such subjects very well so communication is not limited tromsimply conveying facts such as mountain heights and trekking times between villages.

Pasang demonstrated this on a trip to join in the Tamang Lhosar celebrations explaining why there were two different Tamang New Years in 2018CE: Shamans from different 'clans', who set the exact date, could not agree on the most auspicious date so there were two this year. Pasang explained the events as they unfolded and made what otherwise would have been a bewildering - but still enjoyable - experience into a well-informed, educational day.

Pasang facilitated this day trip for nothing. Sometimes it is difficult to give Nepali businessmen the money they deserve.

I whole-heartedly recommend Manikang Treks.

Excellent service and experience

I was not a fan of mountain climbing but with the help of the guides I managed to reach ABC in ease. We are accompanied all the time and well taken care of - my friend got sick and we were given medicine instantly and also many regular check ins when we are off the mountains.

During the trekking we changed our mind to fly down via helicopter. And they are flixible enough to help us with the request.

The plus point was we go nice photo taken by the guide with an eye for professional also !!!!

Bucket List Must-Do

I was fortunate enough to spend three weeks in Napal with Tenzing and his crew. I can't express how amazing the entire experience was. I spent a week exploring Kathmandu visiting temples, eating local cuisine and just diving into the culture. Tenzing made me feel safe the entire trip and always had the best recommendations. I miss Dal Bhat!

After that we took off to Lukla and spent the next two weeks backpacking. Tenzing was ready for everything and was so knowledgeable as we were hiking. He could explain every temple and knew every mountain. One of the best parts was just how stress free everything was. Tenzing literally had it all covered from food, sleeping arrangements, medicine, hiking times you name it.

Tenzing and all his crew are great people. They care about your experience and your well being. I not only highly highly recommend taking this trek but if you do booking through Manikang Treks is a must!

Trek of a Lifetime!

Tenzing and Pasang patiently spent months helping us plan our trip of a lifetime and they delivered every step of the way! Whether we were walking through the streets of Kathmandu or hiking the trails toward Everest they were always recognized by the locals which made us feel right at home, safe and secure.
Adjusting our itinerary for the weather, locating medical care when needed and providing the best cultural experiences ... every detail was always covered.
Always by our side during the three week visit made us feel more like we were visiting family than on a tour.
Looking forward to getting back to explore more of their country.

A truly exceptional experience.

After visiting Nepal a couple of years ago to see Everest, I wanted to come back and get closer look.
After looking at various trekking companies, Tenzing Sherpa and Manikang trekking got in touch.
After a few emails, everything was set up for a trek to Everest Base Camp.
From arriving in Kathmandu, and being greeted at the airport, everthing has been perfect.
The hotel is very friendly with a very high standard of rooms and food.
I spent 2 nights here, a great nights sleep after the long flight. The next day, Tenzing was bang on time with my guide, Tendi, for the trek, who went over what gear i needed for the trek. One very good touch, of many was, they supplied the bag for the porter to carry. They showed me the best place to exchange money, where to get a local sim card etc.
Tenzing had secured the first flights to Lukla for early the next morning.
Again, bang on time greeted at reception, with packed breakfast from the hotel we set off for our flight.
In Lukla we met our porter, who on always ensured when i arrived at the teahouses my bag was waiting for me.
Tendi, my guide was excellent, and the 2 weeks flew in so quickly , we had such a good time. All the teahouses were of a very good standard, clean, good food and a very friendly atmosphere.
The Trek its self was an unforgettable experience, Tendi’s knowledge was outstanding, and the help and advice he gave to a ill trekker who had altitude sickness no doubt prevented his condition worsen.
Overall, a truly unforgettable experience, with a very professional trekking company that prides its self with a very high standard.
I recommend Tenzing and Manikang trekking to anybody wishing to trek in the Nepal region, and i look forward to our next adventure.
